Title: VibeThe title Vibe is printed in a bold so that it stands out to the reader and they know that the magazine is famous, the reader can also tell this by the fact the main image is in front of the writing, having bold writing also makes it easier for the reader too read and understand what’s being said. The title is also printed in a vibrant orange colour to attract the reader’s attention. The definition of vibe could suggest the emotional reactions between people or the atmosphere of the place; this may also suggest a musical interpretation, as in you get a vibe from the type of music you listen to.

The colour scheme of Vibe consists of 4 colours, orange, blue, black and white they contrast one after another on the page. These colours give a sense of maturity and youth. The magazine is set out in a specific organised style black and white suggesting maturity and orange and blue suggesting fun and excitement.
Strap Line:
‘He’s Free, but Is He good? The Untold Story of Bust Rhymes.’
This strap line situated at the top of the magazine, above the masthead (title) to entice the reader to purchase the magazine, as it is also a sell line. And it draws the reader in by the usage of “untold story” making the reader want to find out more about this story and therefore purchasing the magazine.
Main Image: Janet Jackson
The main image of Vibe for this month is Janet Jackson. Janet is a middle aged woman but is perceived as an image for youth a role model to the younger generation aswell as the older generation. Dressed in a black mesh top, white tank top and denim jeans, accessorized with chain buckle bracelets gives the reader an illusion of a rebellious youth and her using a camera could suggest how every snap shot of your life counts so enjoy being young, it could also represent the paparazzi who take snap shots of her an she’s stating she’s doing it back through her picture.
Sell Lines
Lead Story: ‘Janet Jackson Likes To Watch’. Watch what? This is the question the readers will be asking themselves and what will entice them to purchase the magazine to find out what she likes to watch. The fact she’s also a role model people who look up to her will be interested in what she’s interested in so they can be more like her therefore are drawn into wanting to purchase the magazine.
Other sell lines such as ‘A History of Hip Hop Paparazzi’ goes well with janets photo as she is holding a camera and paparazzi take snap shots of celebrities the reader would want to no more about it as it states “history” the reader knows that it will be what’s happened before in hip hop and will have an interest in this.
